For the second week in a row, the Belmont Lions have held their opponent goalless in the final quarter, keeping North Geelong to a solitary behind in beating the reigning premier by 35 points.
Leading by just three points at the final change, the Lions wrestled away control thanks to goals from Jesse Stapleton, Michael Murdoch, and big man Jed Evans in the first ten minutes of the last quarter.
Late goals to recruit Steve Gunter and a second for the term for Murdoch put the finishing touches on a 16.11 (107) to 11.6 (72) victory.
