Today’s GDFNL community came together for a special Day for Scratcher, with activities, smiles and familiar faces filling the venue from start to finish.
The event was held in support of North Geelong stalwart Geoff “Scratcher” Ryan, who is currently battling Scleroderma and awaiting a life-saving lung transplant.
Clubs, players and supporters rallied around Ryan and his family, highlighting the strength and connection that defines local football and cricket.
The day served as a reminder of Ryan’s decades of contribution across both sports, and the impact he has had on so many within the GDFNL community.
With his upcoming assessment at The Alfred Hospital, the league now stands firmly behind one of its own as he faces the fight ahead.
